The SSI Mermaid certification is available online. You can do it online, so you can work whenever and wherever you like. There are two parts to the certificate: a practical portion and an online part. Either you can do the online part on a desktop or laptop computer. Or, you can use your smartphone to complete the practical portion. Both iOS and Android users can access the SSI App.
JODY PRATT
JODY PRATT has been a PADI Mermaid Instructor since 2005 and is a certified SSI Instructor Instructor Trainer. She started her diving career at a young age and has accumulated many Specialty Instructor Ratings. She loves water and takes open water classes. JODY has also been certified as a Technical Rescue instructor trainer.
Michelle Forsbrey
Michelle Forsbrey loves the ocean and is a keen surfer. Her love of the ocean and beach inspired her to purchase a mermaid tail to use in her rehabilitation. She was a hit with children and adults alike when she wore the mermaidtail in a hotel pool.
Try Mermaid Experience
You don't have to dream of becoming a Mermaid, but you might be curious how the experience works. SSI offers a Try Mermaid experience that lets you try swimming underwater with mermaid fins. This course is ideal for beginners. This course will teach you how safe to swim underwater, how to use mermaid fins and even how to hold your breath underwater. After completing your Try Mermaid course, you'll receive $15 towards your full certification.
Rusty
Rusty was born in New Orleans, but grew up in a small town in the Atchafalaya Basin. It is the largest US swamp and covers 22 parishes. Rusty's experience in the swamp has made him appreciate the unique cajun culture. Rusty enjoys swimming, cycling, underwater photography and spending time at home with his family.
Niki
Niki Dawson is a successful female entrepreneur, a professional scuba instructor and a creative wedding planner. She loves to travel to different parts to dive. Micronesia has been her favorite place to dive. Niki is passionate about exploring all parts of the globe.
Evi
Evi is a mermaid performer and instructor who teaches mermaid tail swim. Evi's first mermaid academy opened in March 2018. Since then, hundreds of guppies have learned to swim with her tail. Evi is a certified mermaid instructor and has participated in the World Mermaid Championship together with Naomi. Evi's goal is to make the water fun and safe for reefs.
