A Discovery Scuba Dive is a supervised dive in which you can explore the underwater world at up to 12 metres deep. If you have any questions, your instructor will be there to help you. During some dives your instructor may keep an eye on you to provide support. However, it is recommended that your scuba tank be sized to you. This will help you keep cool while still enjoying your new sport.

Big Fish Diving
Big Fish Diving offers a discovery dive program to help new divers get acquainted with scuba diving. This program requires students to be 10 years old and be familiar with basic swimming techniques. Each participant must also sign a medical waiver. New divers will be accompanied by a certified instructor diving at the site.
Big Fish Dive Centre offers many options for renting dive gear. The centre offers a wide range of equipment that can be adjusted to suit individual needs. A shorter suit is preferred over a full diving suit during cooler months. The dive centre also boasts a brand new purpose-built dive boat, which can accommodate up to 20 tanks. A permanent mooring allows for easy access to the boat. Big Fish Diving offers divers who are interested in advanced diving a variety of courses as well as PADI Specialist courses.

Scuba gear
For exploration diving, you will need scuba gear. Depending on how deep you plan to go, you'll need an air supply and a regulator to keep you from decompressing too quickly. To check how much air you have left, you can use a scuba gauge. This gauge can be either a separate device, or integrated into your dive computer. Make sure that the gauge is rated for the depth you plan to dive.
Consider where you will be diving and your personal preferences when choosing gear. Some gear is universal and will work in almost any environment. Others are made for one type of diving. A diving mask is an important piece of scuba gear for all types of diving, regardless of temperature or depth.
