If you're looking for an online learning option to complete your scuba dive certification, you've probably considered PADI's Enriched Air Diver course or SSI's Enriched Air Nitrox course. But you might be wondering where to begin. This article will show you how to get started and what the pros and cons of each. Additionally, this article will discuss online nitrox certification.

PADI's Enriched Air Diver course

PADI Enriched Air Diver Course teaches students how safe to plan and prepare for enriched-air dives. It is computer-based. The classroom portion usually takes place in the evening. The course can be combined with other PADI courses including Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver. The course includes Nitrox diving, but you can also do them on your own.

Interactive multimedia presentations, audio and graphics are used to teach the course. They are simple to comprehend and remember. There are short quizzes to test your progress. A Quick Review, a practical session, two enriched-air training dives, pre-dive simulations and a practice application are all part of the course. PADI recommends you finish the eLearning section of the course at least one years before you intend to use nitrox.

SSI's Enriched Air Nitrox course

The EnrichedAir Nitrox course from SSI is a great choice if you want to increase your bottom times and decrease your surface intervals. This course covers everything, from gas theory to correct mixing of enriched oxygen and how you mark your tank. You will learn how to calculate the ideal enriched air mix for your specific depth and plan your dives in order to make the most efficient use of enriched air.

After completing a Open Water Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver class, SSI offers an ongoing EnrichedAir Nitrox course. This course will teach you how to safely use enriched nitrox. This course will help you plan your future dives to minimize the risk of decompression sickness. After passing the exam, you can use the enriched aircylinder safely.

Online learning for Nitrox certification

Two ways to obtain your enriched air certification are available: online and in-classroom. You will need a dive machine to complete the classroom course. It will take about an hour to complete the classroom portion of your enriched-air certification. You can combine it with an Advanced Open Water or PADI Open Water course. Online learning is also available if you have limited time. You can also do the course online and take the nitrox test offline.

A manual, a cylinder and a dive computer are required for the course. Online learning options allow you to use an app that simulates a enriched aircylinder to test your skills. The EANx36 cylinder fits in both a classroom and online eLearning program. For the class to be successful, students must reach minimum 12 years old.
