The SSI Mermaid certification is available online. This means that you can complete it whenever you want and anywhere you are. There are two parts to the certification: a practical part and an online portion. The online portion can be completed on a laptop or computer. You can also use your smartphone for the practical part. The SSI App is available for both iOS and Android devices.
JODY PRATT
JODY PRATT is a PADI Mermaid Instructor and a certified SSI Instructor Trainer. She was just 16 when she started diving and has since earned numerous Specialty Instructor Ratings. She is passionate about water and loves going back to basics with her open water classes. JODY also holds a Technical Rescue Instructor Trainer certification.
Michelle Forsbrey
Michelle Forsbrey, a keen surfer and swimmer is passionate about the ocean and the sea. To help her rehab, she bought a mermaid tail. When she wore the mermaid tail in a local hotel swimming pool, she attracted attention from children and parents alike.
Try Mermaid Experience
You can be anything you want, from a dream to becoming a mermaid to curiousity about how it works. SSI offers a Try Mermaid adventure that allows you to swim underwater with mermaid Fins. This course is ideal for beginners. It will teach you how to swim underwater safely, use mermaid fins, and even hold your breath underwater. You'll get $15 toward your full certification after you complete the Try Mermaid course.
Rusty
Rusty was born and raised in New Orleans. It is the largest US swamp, covering 22 municipalities. Living in the swamp has given him a deep appreciation for the unique cajun culture. Rusty enjoys swimming, cycling, underwater photography and spending time at home with his family.
Niki
Niki Dawson is a successful female entrepreneur. She is also a professional instructor in scuba diving and a creative wedding coordinator. She loves to travel to different parts to dive. Micronesia and Australia are her favorite spots to dive. Niki enjoys exploring the globe, as well as diving.
Evi
Evi is an instructor and performer in mermaid swimming. Evi's first mermaid academy opened in March 2018. Since then, hundreds of guppies have learned to swim with her tail. Evi and Naomi competed at the World Mermaid Championship. Her goal: To make children feel safe in the ocean.
