To become a cavern dive instructor, you must complete a scuba diver course. This course covers four scuba diving dives. The first one is an outdoor practice dive where you will learn basic techniques for handling line and reel, air management, and avoiding silt outs. Your instructor will show you how plan your dive, and keep your air and orientation under control. After the course you will be certified to dive in caves and other caves following safety rules.
Safety rules
Cave diving safety protocols should follow the Rule of Threes. A cave diver must have three sources of light and at least two tanks, one of which should be independent or multi-mounted. They should also divide their gas into three separate sections to ensure that they have enough gas to survive the dive. If the dive crew is experienced and has been diving in caves in the past, a more conservative gas management program is preferred. Cave divers must practice safe diving practices in order to avoid hazards from caves.
Equipment
Cave diving requires specialized equipment. You should have two safety reels. One should be used to run guideline, while the other should be used to maintain line tension while the diver is in the cave. Make sure each diver has a safety line with enough line to reach the cave entrance. The majority of manufacturers will fill the reels with guideline. This increases the likelihood of them jamming. To avoid jamming, remove approximately 10 meters (30ft), of line prior to use.
Maximum penetration
TDI offers a cavern course to scuba divers looking to dive in areas where it is not possible to reach the vertical. This includes caverns or overhangs. This course is not required to be able to dive in caverns, but it will teach you the skills necessary to make the most out of these environments. You will learn to navigate the often-hidden spaces safely.

Maximum depth
Cavern diving is subject to certain restrictions. Cavern diving should not be done at night. Cavern diving is more difficult than other types of diving. Cavern diving is a great option for those who are curious. You should be familiar with basic cave safety procedures, and you need to know your limits. Before diving in caverns, you will need to have had some experience. Then, you can begin a journey into the world of cavern diving!
