SSI

The first step to obtaining your scuba diving certification is taking the SSI Open Water Diver class. This course is taught in small groups so that you receive individualized attention and can learn the complex scuba diving skills you'll need. This course will teach you how coral reef fish are identified, how to breathe underwater, how safety checks work, and how not to use a regulator.

PADI

PADI Open Water Diving is a course that will allow you to become a certified scuba diver. You will learn to swim and deal with common scuba diving issues. This exam will consist of 50 multiple-choice question and can be taken either before or after your confined water training. The PADI Open Water Diver certification exam is a practical test that allows you to apply your knowledge in the water. The minimum pass rate for the PADI Open Water Diver test is 75%.

eLearning

PADI eLearning provides an online learning platform that allows individuals to take multiple PADI certification classes. Students who excel in math and science, but are not comfortable learning via video, can use PADI eLearning. A classroom approach might be more appropriate for those individuals. However, many prefer to learn with a traditional instructor-led method. PADI eLearning makes it easier and faster to achieve your desired certifications.

Cost

While the cost of scuba diving varies, it generally ranges from $30 to $150, depending on the area and the type of dive shop. Requirements
