What is an Aqualung? In its most basic form, an Aqua-Lung can be described as a self-contained, open circuit breathing apparatus. Aqua-Lungs was one of the first type of self-contained respiratory apparatus. It quickly gained commercial success and popularity around the world. This equipment is commonly known as a twin hose diving regulator or demand valve. Aqua-lungs were first used by Emile Gagnan and Jacques Cousteau. They quickly became a hit in the diving world.
Jacques Cousteau
Jacques Cousteau was the inventor of the first open-circuit self-contained underwater breathing device. His design was based on a demand valve system that supplied compressed air to divers during their underwater breathing. This device, called the Aqua-Lung (or the Aqua-Lung), opened the world up to divers and anyone else who was interested in diving. Cousteau's Aqua-Lung became the standard for divers everywhere.
Emile Gagnan
Emile Gagnan, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, and Emile Gaunin invented the Aqua Lung in 1940. The Aqua Lung's unique design is a result of the designs of earlier diving helmets from the 19th century. It allows underwater divers the ability to breathe through a mouthpiece, which releases compressed oxygen activated by diver's breath. Gagnan refined the regulator valve that feeds compressed oxygen to the diver's mouthpiece. This is proportional to how much diver breathes. This device was a significant breakthrough in the diving world, allowing people to explore depths of ocean for scientific observation, military and recreational use.

The first open-circuit demand controller
Cousteau designed the Aqua lung in 1944. He also patented it in 1946. Since then, the Aqua-Lung is a very popular scuba regulator. Gagnan, Cousteau's father-in-law, and his colleague Emile Gagnan, a French chemist, were also part of the team. They all knew Cousteau's research and decided to collaborate and create the Aqua-Lung regulator.
The BC1
The BC1 Aqua Lung can be used to inflate backs for advanced commercial, military, public safety, and other divers. The rugged design of the BC1 Aqua Lung provides superior comfort, fit and stability. The manual also includes information on how to insert weights into each pouch. Two weight capacities are available for the BC1, one one chest and one one back. By purchasing different weight pouches, the BC1 can be tailored to suit individual needs.
The Titan
Aqua Lung Titan is a portable, lightweight regulator that incorporates all the features of previous generations. Its lightweight design makes it very comfortable to use. Additionally, the soft polyurethane shell provides a comfortable fit. The lightweight and sturdy design make it easy to handle during an extended dive. It is reasonably priced, making it affordable to most people. It comes with two stages: one that prevents unwanted flow and another that prevents it from leaking.
The Mentor
Developed in conjunction with the United States Navy, the Aqua lung Mentor is a regulator that replaces the aging double hoses that are used to train divers for rebreather use. The Aqua lung, while not yet for sale to the public, is a good choice for professionals divers looking for an alternate to the double hose regulators. Here are some things to keep in mind when buying the Aqua lung Mentor. You must first calibrate it.

The Sea Hunt
The Sea Hunt was an American television series that aired in 1958 through 1961. It starred Lloyd Bridges as a Navy frogman and achieved phenomenal ratings. The series is a firm favorite with Boomer viewers. It has been rerun over and over for decades. The entire season can be purchased in a box set, which includes all 39 episodes. TGG has the set available in a 2-volume, 5-disc set. In its 26-minute runtime, it's still action-adventure.
