This certification can be obtained by several North American diving training agencies. These include the National Association of Underwater Instructors, Professional Association of Diving Instructors, and Scuba Diving International.

NAUI Master Scuba Diver

The NAUI Master Scuba Diver Certificate is the most sought-after certification in recreational dive. The course requires that students complete an introductory dive, at most two open-water dives, as well as a rescue dive. The program is a continuous education opportunity that emphasizes classroom discussion, practical application, and student participation. E-learning courses are required before the students start their first session. Additionally, they must spend at minimum 23 hours of classroom learning with an instructor. Divers will learn topics such diving equipment and deep diving. They also need to search for and recover. Students will also need to pass an exam on water skills that is equivalent to the one required for a NAUI Assistant Instructor.
